At Home Sick....with a Side of Anxiety.

Thor's home sick from preschool this week; stuck taking antibiotics and coughing non-stop. The poor guy only wants to lay on the couch and is not interested in eating much. I have to watch him closely right now, since illness tends to elevate his self-injuring (trying to pull out his tongue or eyeballs are typical behaviours when he's not feeling well).

During his doctor's exam, it was noted that his heart rate was elevated higher than what they would typically see in a child his age -- his anxiety was out of control. Yet another example of where his Autism Service Dog would help him...a calming presence in times of illness and stress.
